I created an interactive digital avatar of myself — and you can talk to it
TechCrunch’s Dominic-Madori Davis describes creating an interactive digital avatar of herself with Synthesia. The process used photos and a two-minute voice recording to make personal avatars and interactive versions that can listen and talk back. The avatar was trained on one of her articles and uses a stack of voice-to-text, language, text-to-voice, and video models to answer questions about that story.

A personal avatar that answers questions about its creator’s own article feels very close-range. I’m especially interested in how tightly the knowledge boundary is set to protect the person behind it.
