Sony to offer drivers cute AI agent for self-driving age
Sony Group plans to offer an in-car AI agent with an original character as early as fiscal 2027. The character, Wichef, is a talking rabbit-sheep hybrid created for AI applications and is designed to help with tasks from navigation to brainstorming. The move positions a friendly AI character as a companion-like presence in the car as autonomous driving changes in-vehicle entertainment.

If Wichef lives in the car, it becomes closer to a passenger than a navigation voice. The key will be whether its cuteness can support safety and comfort without pulling attention in the wrong direction.
